Jane Corkin, Founder of Corkin Gallery, will be awarded an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree by the University of Toronto in recognition of her excellence in the arts as a visionary gallerist, as a pioneering interpreter of photography as fine art, and as an influential advocate for Canadian artists.
Corkin will be honored Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1 at the University of Toronto during which a degree ceremony, luncheon, symposium and conversation will be held to celebrate and discuss Corkin’s work and influence on the field.
The University of Toronto awards honorary degrees in recognition of extraordinary achievement in community, national, or international service; and to individuals whose accomplishments are of such excellence that they provide, through example, inspiration and leadership to the graduates of the University.
