Corkin Gallery is pleased to present  Where One Finishes the Other Begins,  an exhibition of new paintings by Gina Rorai. During the last two years, Rorai has revisited her interests in still life, landscape, and interior spaces to create this new body of work distinguished by her  intense palette.   Rorai  is  fascinated by qualities of the domestic and the quotidian.  Her painting shifts  between exterior and interior views across the same plane frequently abstracting  or disrupting  intimate spaces and  landscapes. Rorai achieves tone and emotional responses  through colour. Her colour choices build  the  foundation;  texture and internal light are achieved with tremulous brush stroking. 

After graduating from York University with a BFA, Rorai began exhibiting with the prominent dealer Sable Castelli. She has been included in seminal exhibitions, and her work is held in numerous institutions across Canada. Gina Rorai is exclusively represented by Corkin Gallery.
