Miles Gertler will have a residency at the Palazzo Monti in Brescia, Italy this June 2023. The residency, founded in 2017 has welcomed over 200 artists, serving as an incubator for creativity and productivity, and offering those a chance to find inspiration and forge new relationships. Gertler's work is informed by an interest in the construction of space and under-the-radar aesthetic histories of technology. The project, Typical Oasis, will explore how scenographic systems of display might trouble the flattening inherent to pictorial traditions of environmental representation.
